This was the first pigeon show I have ever attended. I went here to meet the ASRA members showing.
At this show I meet the nicest pigeon breeders. I got to meet Bill Schlieper, pictured with me here. Also meet Joe Bronner, Brice Rodegerdts, Carl Rodegerdts, Brendon Rodegerdts, Ku Yu, Don Hodge, Carl Schmidt, Bobby Corrales, George Tatum, Geoff Tiegen, and Joe Pelliettieri.
What a warm welcome these guys gave me. I enjoyed the show a lot. I really did start to learn some valuable tips at this show from some great breeders.
If your new to the ASRA make sure you visit a show and meet the breeders near you. It is invaluable. Make sure you pick their brain for all the information that they have accumulated over time as an American Show Racer Breeder.

I learned a long time ago, if you want to know how to do something you need to talk to the experts. Well in the pigeon hobby this cannot be more stressed. Especially for us Novice/Beginners in the ASRA.
I have three people whom I consider to have been the most helpful to me. Jack Sudbury of Fresno, CA., Bill Schlieper of Castro Valley, CA., and Bill Robinson of Jackson, NJ.
Jack Sudbury has become a very good friend and mentor to me. I have really enjoyed all the time I have spent talking to him and learning from him. Thanks Jack!
Bill Schlieper is probably one of the nicest person I have met so far in the ASRA. He has been more than nice, he has really helped my start into the ASRA with a very nice Opal Check YC I got from him at the Great Western in 2008. It has been my breeder to date. I hope to get a few more from him this year to continue my line.
Bill Robinson has been a real god send to me. I have never met him, and we have only communicated on the phone and by email. He has taught so much about breeding, conditioning and health issues. I can’t say enough about him.
